RIYADH — The third edition of the Saudi Green Initiative Forum 2023 activities is set to kick off on Monday in Dubai, coinciding with the 28th Conference of the Parties to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP28). The Saudi Green Initiative Forum 2023, which is being held under the theme of "From Ambition to Action", aims to shed light on various initiatives and projects currently under way in several parts of Saudi Arabia. The activities of the forum provide an annual platform for a group from the most prominent policy makers, opinion leaders, and climate experts around the world. The annual platform brings together those expertise in order to exchange ideas and vision, in addition to having deep discussions regarding the best available ways to efficiently address climate challenges and reach a more sustainable future locally and globally. As for the agenda for the 2023 edition, it will focus on a group of topics, including financing climate action activities, innovating clean energy solutions, activating the role of various groups of society in climate action, in addition to protecting land and marine areas in Saudi Arabia. The Saudi Green Initiative Forum 2023 will also discuss topics related to sustainability, activating the role of financing to enable climate action, in addition to tree planting and environmental rehabilitation. The forum's activities provide the opportunity for visitors to listen to an elite group of climate experts from Saudi Arabia and the world, in addition to interacting with them about the most important trends in the field of sustainability. It is noteworthy that the Saudi Green Initiative is an ambitious initiative launched by the Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed Bin Salman in 2021 with the aim of combating climate change and raising the quality of life, in addition to protecting the earth for future generations. The initiative seeks to mobilize the efforts of all effective agencies in societies to achieve 3 main goals, which are: reducing emissions, afforestation, and protecting land and nature. More than 80 initiatives are also being carried out, with the aim of contributing to achieving the goals of the Saudi Green Initiative, all of which represent huge investments in the fields of the green economy.
