Dr. Walid Fitaihi, Chairman and CEO of the International Medical Center (IMC) in Jeddah, launches this year's annual breast cancer awareness campaign during the month of October, in line with IMC's social responsibility programs. The "With Hope, You Are Stronger" campaign aims to encourage women over the age of 40 to undergo early screening for breast cancer and introduce them to the self-detection mechanism, in addition to educating them about the procedures required in case breast cancer is detected. To encourage early screening, IMC offered a special 50% discount on mammograms and a free consultation alongside. This lasted throughout the month of October and was provided at both the IMC headquarters and the First Clinic branch at Etoile Center. The campaign launched by the IMC included implementing a bundle of awareness activities, which began by broadcasting continuous awareness messages through social media accounts, and then holding interactive awareness events at the headquarters of the IMC for a period of three days, during which health intellectuals were present throughout the day to answer questions and distribute awareness brochures. In addition to that, a series of radio episodes were being broadcasted on MIX FM Radio under the title (your wellness with the IMC), including an episode on (Breast cancer awareness and the importance of early screening), which hosted an IMC doctor. The event witnessed an interaction from the audience by asking questions and inquiring about many matters related to prevention, examination and the procedures that every woman should be familiar with regarding a health-cautious lifestyle. It is worth noting that 99% of the women who initiate the examination have healthy results, and in the event of early breast cancer detection, the treatment journey becomes safer, by the grace of God Almighty, as early detection increases the cure rate by 95% making the treatment faster and easier.
