Cabinet praises positive results of Crown Prince's India visit; commends Kingdom's leading role in G20

The Cabinet, chaired by Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman on Tuesday in NEOM, praised the positive results of the official visit paid by the Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman to India, where he met with Indian President Droupadi Murmu, held talks with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, and attended the first Saudi-Indian Strategic Partnership Council, which resulted in several memorandums of understanding that are expected to expand cooperation in all fields, in the interest of both peoples.
The Cabinet also commended the outcome of the Crown Prince's participation in the G20 Leaders' Summit, which was also held in India, and which reflects the global status, political and economic weight of the Kingdom, and its leading role in safeguarding the stability of the global economy and energy markets.
The Cabinet praised the decisions reached by the G20 leaders, which are expected to boost cooperation among G20 member states and the global economy.
Minister of Media Salman Bin Yousef Al-Dosari said the Cabinet stressed that the Kingdom's contribution to the establishment of an economic corridor connecting India, the Middle East and Europe arises from its strategic geographical location and global leadership as a reliable source of energy, as well as from its competitive advantage, which makes its participation vital to the success of this project.
The Cabinet also discussed the memorandum of understanding signed by Saudi Arabia with the United States, which entails cooperation in developing a protocol for the establishment of intercontinental green transit corridors, passing through the Kingdom, that connect Asia with Europe with the aim of facilitating the transport of renewable electricity and clean hydrogen via transmission cables and pipelines, as well as rail linkages.
The Cabinet was briefed on the content of the two letters that Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques had sent to Burkina Faso's interim president and to the president of Côte d'Ivoire, and on the contents of the phone calls made by the Crown Prince to the Russian and Ukrainian presidents.
In a statement to the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) following the session, Al-Dosari said that the Cabinet reviewed talks and meetings that Saudi Arabia conducted recently with various countries, in view of the pivotal role the Kingdom plays through its memberships in many entities and its bilateral relations through which it strives to boost international cooperation.
Al-Dosari said that the Cabinet expressed appreciation for the results of the first strategic dialogue between the Saudi and Japanese foreign ministers, stressing the depth of relations between the two countries and the importance of continuing coordination and cooperation at various levels.
The Cabinet also touched on the phone call the Crown Prince held with the king of Morocco, in which he reiterated the Kingdom's solidarity with the earthquake-hit Morocco.
The Saudi leadership directed concerned authorities to urgently provide the necessary relief and humanitarian aid to help alleviate the impact of the disaster. These efforts reflect the Kingdom's crucial role in aiding peoples affected by natural disasters or in need around the world.
The Cabinet approved a cooperation agreement between the government of Saudi Arabia and Azerbaijan in the field of energy.
It authorized the minister of culture to discuss with the Kyrgyz side a draft MoU for cooperation with the Ministry of Culture, Information, Sports and Youth Policy of the Kyrgyz Republic.
The Cabinet approved a draft MoU for cooperation between the Ministry of Tourism of Saudi Arabia and the Ministry of Tourism and Cultural Heritage of Uzbekistan.
It authorized the minister of investment to hold talks with the Vietnamese side regarding a draft MoU with the Ministry of Planning and Investment in Vietnam for cooperation in promoting direct investment.
The Cabinet authorized the minister of economy and planning to hold talks with the Austrian and Georgian sides regarding draft memorandums of understanding with each of the Austrian Federal Ministry of Labor and Economy, and the Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development of Georgia, to boost cooperation.
It authorized the Ministry of Economy and Planning to hold talks with the University of Chicago regarding a draft partnership and research cooperation agreement. It approved the by-law of the General Authority for Media Regulation. — SPA
