TGA approves over 76 violations in Postal Law

RIYADH — The Transport General Authority (TGA) has approved more than 76 violations in the Postal Law, with penalties of up to SR250,000.
TGA'S Board of Directors has approved to classify the violations and identify the penalties for the Postal Law's executive regulation, which aim to ensure the implementation of the best practices in the field and improve the beneficiaries' experience.
It also aims in placing the legal appropriate tool which contributes in protecting the postal activities and services, in addition to developing the field, as well as to elevate its quality.
The violations classification in the Postal Law, which amount to more than 76, were listed among 8 categories for the violations.
The first is providing postal services without obtaining the necessary approvals and licenses, with the minimum penalty of SR35,000, and the maximum being SR250,000.
The category of violation of non-compliance with the rules for providing postal services and licensing requirements also includes the category of violation of transporting banned materials.
It also includes using postal stamps that are not approved by TGA, each of them has a minimum penalty of SR5,000 and the maximum of SR50,000.
The list also includes a category of violation of concealment, destruction or loss of postal materials, with a minimum violation of SR5,000 and a maximum of SR50,000.
In the category of violating the confidentiality of postal materials or customer data, the authority said that the violators will be subject to a financial penalty of a minimum of SR35,000 and a maximum of SR250,000.
Persons who violate the category of non-compliance with the conditions of reporting and the requirements of the government relationship, they will be punished with a minimum of SR5,000, while the maximum limit for the violation is SR50,000.
Moreover, those who violate the category of violating the terms of data disclosure, TGA has determined that the financial penalty is a minimum of SR500, and a maximum of SR10,000.
The issuance of the violations and penalties comes within TGA's endeavor to ensure the implementation of the best practices in the supervisory work, which would contribute in reducing the systemic risks that might affect the activity.
