1,886 evacuees arrive in Jeddah, largest number since start of evacuation from Sudan

RIYADH — The Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced on Saturday the arrival of 20 Saudi citizens, and 1,866 evacuees of different nationalities from Sudan to Jeddah.
This is considered the largest number of nationals who have been evacuated via a single ship since Saudi Arabia began its operations to evacuate Saudi citizens and nationals of other countries from war-torn Sudan.
The evacuees were transported via one of the Saudi ships, "Amanah", and the nationalities evacuated are varied.
They are from: Thailand, Australia, Rwanda, Gambia, Eritrea, Malawi, North Macedonia, France, India, Norway, Palestine, Yemen, US, Syria, Philippines, Nigeria, Bangladesh, Sweden, Kenya, Tunisia, Iraq, Libya, Morocco, Jordan, Mauritania, Tanzania, Iran and Pakistan.
Moreover, there are other nationals of evacuees. They are from: Canada, Russia, Panama, Ecuador, Ireland, Greece, Vietnam, Nepal, Bosnia and Herzegovina, South Sudan, Somalia, Burkina Faso, Côte d'Ivoire, Ghana, Zimbabwe, Burundi, Myanmar and Indonesia.
People from Tajikistan, Mongolia, Türkiye, Italy, Ethiopia, Chad, Germany, South Africa, Uganda, Liberia, Namibia, Sierra Leone, UK, Belgium, Benin, Netherlands, Egypt, Mauritius, Romania, in addition to a number of United Nations staff were evacuated.
Saudi Arabia was keen to provide all the basic needs of foreigners in preparation for facilitating their departure to their countries.
With this evacuation process, the total number of those who have been evacuated from Sudan and arrived in Jeddah since the start of the evacuation operations reached about 4,879 people, including 139 Saudi citizens, and about 4,738 belonging to 96 nationalities.
This effort has come in the implementation of the directives of Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman and the Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman, who issued directives to evacuate Saudi citizens and nationals of friendly countries from Sudan.
