Saudi Arabia records 146 million POS transactions worth over SR11 billion in a week

RIYADH — The number of points of sale (POS) transactions in Saudi Arabia from March 19 to 25 reached 146,312,000, with a total value of SR11.04 billion.
According to the weekly point-of-sale bulletin, released by the Saudi Central Bank (SAMA), the number of transactions in the clothing and shoes sector reached 5,068,000, with a value of SR790,704,000 and the number of transactions in the construction and building materials sector reached 1,328,000, with a value of SR336,386,000.
The number of transactions in the education sector reached 120,000, worth SR144,557000 while the number of transactions in electronic and electrical devices sector reached 857,000, with a value of SR253,754,000, and the number of transactions in gas stations reached 11,677,000 worth SR632,683,000.
The number of transactions in the health sector was 6,619,000, amounting to SR644,610,000 while the number of transactions in the furniture sector was 1,209,000, with a value of SR340,780,000. The number of transactions in the sector of hotels reached 449,000, worth SR265,474,000 while the number of operations in the sector of public utilities was 1,460,000, amounting to SR103,964,000.
The SAMA report showed that the number of transactions in the jewelry sector reached 190,000, with a value of SR189,269,000 and the number of transactions in miscellaneous goods and services reached 15,013,000, with a value of SR1,067,072,000.
The number of transactions in the entertainment and culture sector reached 2,213,000, with a value of SR243,327,000 while the transactions in restaurants and cafes stood at 37,015,000 with a value of SR1,238,943,000, and the transactions in the food and beverages sector was at 38,350,000 with a value of SR2,198,152,000.
The number of transactions in communications reached 441,000 with a value of SR83,679,000 while the number of transactions in the transportation sector reached 2,029,000 with a value of SR607,837,000, whereas the number of other transactions amounted to 22,273,000, with a value of SR1,900,174,000.
At the level of cities across the Kingdom, the number of weekly POS transactions in Riyadh reached 44,295,000, with a value of SR3,659,508,000 and the number of POS transactions in Makkah reached 6,443,000, amounting to SR529,904,000.
The number of POS transactions in Madinah reached 6,063, 000, with a value of SR419,387,000 while the POS transactions in Tabuk reached 3,001,000, worth SR181,566,000. The number of POS transactions in Hail reached 2,502,000, with a value of SR166,145,000 while the POS transactions in Abha stood at 2,154,000, with a value SR136,165,000. The total POS transactions in Buraidah reached 3,535,000 with a value of SR268,367,000 while in Al-Khobar the number of POS transactions stood at 3,290,000 with a value of SR320,317,000.
The number of POS transactions in Dammam reached 6,447,000, with a value of SR585,014,000 while in Jeddah the total POS transactions stood at 18,047,000 with a value of SR1,615,346,000 and the number of POS transactions in other cities reached 50,353,000, with a value of SR3,158,646,000.
