Land carriers obligated to issue electronic 'Transport Document'

RIYADH — The Transport General Authority (TGA) has set the date of starting to issue the electronic "Transport Document" for all the licensees practicing the activity of transporting goods on land roads. It will be from Wednesday, March 1, 2023, through the Naql platform.
The e-transport document would contribute in raising the level of service, while enhancing transport safety. It will also be helping in checking the transportation operation details to guarantee the preservation of rights of all concerned service providers and beneficiaries.
TGA stated that this step comes within the efforts of automating its services, maximizing the benefit of the digital role in completing the journey of the digital transformation, as well as achieving further progress and development for the transportation services.
In order to achieve all its targets, TGA has provided several e-services for the beneficiaries through the Naql platform, which enables and allows the carriers to benefit from more than 250 e-service.
It has clarified the transport document contains detailed data, such as the data of sender and receipt, shipment data, licensees data, transporting costs data, schedule of transported shipments, the journey details, carrier data.
People can also instantly view documents, and check the shipment information and status electronically.
TGA said that e-linking of facilities in Naql platform aims in monitoring and controlling the provided services, managing the transport operation and raising its efficiency. It would also help to organize the contractual relationship between the parties of the transport process.
The e-linking will also contribute to Naql platform and registering via the (waybill) in increasing the level of transparency of data, and to ensure dealing with licensed carriers that comply with security and safety requirements.
