JEDDAH — For the first time ever, the “Iftah Ya Simsim (Open Sesame)” theater event “Come Discover the Treasure” will be staged in Madinah for three days at the Casablanca International Convention and Exhibition Center from next Wednesday.
It is supported by the Ministry of Culture and Information, the General Authority for Tourism and Antiquities, the Arab Bureau of Education for the Gulf States and the Union of Radio and Television (GCC).
The edutainment show will be on stage through the initiative of “Open Sesame” for education with entertainment.
Dr. Ali Bin Abdul Khaliq Al-Qarni, director General of the Arab Bureau of Education for the Gulf States, said that “this event is a part of the educational activities and Cultural Initiative.”
“Open Sesame” is approved by the Arab Bureau of Education for the Gulf States and a presentation in Kuwait and Abu Dhabi will be displayed later this year.
The program advocates awareness of children and the entire family on important topics such as the environment and recycling, water conservation, energy, traffic safety, careers, health habits, respect of parents and the elderly, numbers and letters, imagination and creativity.
It also includes funny dialogues with some figures, which carries the messages of education and educational objectives.
These have been developed according to the method of “Iftah ya simsim” learning prepared by 80 educators of the Gulf, in partnership with the Arab Bureau of Education for the Gulf States.
“It is worth mentioning that the increasing number of on-line visits shows that the program is very popular among youth and their confidence in the educational content provided by the Open Sesame, ‘Iftah ya simsim,'” said Firas Maddah, media representative of “Open Sesame” in Saudi Arabia.
He said that “support of the General Authority for Tourism and Antiquities and the Ministry of Culture and Information providing logistics services are great; it is a positive step aimed to attract international events to the various regions of the Kingdom.”
He emphasized that the “Sesame Workshop” is universally recognized as a non-profit organization working in the field of media through the partnership between the public and private sectors.
“Education initiatives require mobilization of efforts and education is one of the most important social responsibilities.
“Open Sesame” will be in support of the educational objectives of the community and provide an opportunity bring the global content to the local community,” he added.
