The recent decision of the OPEC Plus oil group to cut oil production of their countries by two million barrels per day in November has triggered a new battle against the organization in Washington. It is as if opening the Pandora's Box, so that "snakes" in the "Congress", especially the Democratic Party representatives, come out of it to target Saudi Arabia with different sorts of abuses and obscenities, and attempts to impose sanctions against the Kingdom. This is just because of the sovereign decision taken by the Saudi leadership is in Riyadh, and not in any Western or Eastern capital, and the decision is in total agreement with the OPEC Plus members. They considered the OPEC Plus' decision as an embarrassment from the Saudi Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed Bin Salman to the Democratic US President Joe Biden. They also claimed that the OPEC Plus decision represents Saudi bias towards Russia in confronting the United States. The leaders of the Biden administration and the White House came out with hidden threats, such as Washington is studying its options against Riyadh. That opened the door for Biden's allies in Congress to threaten to move the No Oil Producing and Exporting Cartels Act (NOPEC). The NOPEC bill threatens to punish Saudi Arabia in a manner similar to The Justice Against Sponsors of Terrorism Act (JASTA). They found it an opportunity to tweet and sit in front of the satellite TV screens to deliberate proposals such as withdrawing missile systems from Saudi Arabia and it's neighbor the United Arab Emirates; halting supply of weapons to the Kingdom, and punishing all the OPEC Plus countries that they consider uncooperative with Washington. All such options are already doomed to fail. They are well aware that Saudi Arabia does not use its oil as a political weapon, and that it is exploring all options to ensure that it employs its oil to serve the interests of its economic and development projects. They know very well that Saudi Arabia is always behind the efforts to stabilize the markets of this strategic commodity for decades in a way benefiting its people and the peoples of the world. They are also aware that the weak global demand for oil due to the coronavirus pandemic for nearly two years has resulted in the miserable performance of the global economy, which is one of the reasons for Saudi moves to persuade the rest of the oil producers to maintain a price that suits the requirements of its economy and the economy of its OPEC Plus allies. And if they recall, they can well see that these endeavors, at the height of the global pandemic crisis, led to a chill in the relationship between Riyadh and Moscow. It is certain that the new Saudi Arabia has taken a diplomatic path titled "Balanced relations with the West and the East." It is a balance that includes Russia, the United States of America, and China as well. While Riyadh remains loyal to its allies and friends, this does not mean that it considers Washington's opponents its enemies. The core doctrine of Saudi diplomacy under the leadership of Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman emphasizes that the interest of the Kingdom is above all other considerations, and that sovereignty must not only be seen but actually exercised, without either pressures or concessions. This requires the availability of strategic options in the hands of the Saudi leadership. Riyadh realizes that moves such as stopping arms exports or imposing foreign trade sanctions are possible, and it would not be surprising in any way. Therefore, the alternatives for Saudi Arabia are ready and decided. At the same time, the Kingdom knows very well that there are powerful wise men in Washington who know that unfriendly actions against Saudi Arabia by the United States will not only harm the Kingdom, but such an ember will adversely affect Washington as well. This is the opposite of what the American leftist idiots want. Former President George W. Bush announced during his presidency that if Congress passed the NOPEC Act, he would take the right of presidential veto to prevent its execution. Even Biden, who was among those who stood behind that law in 2007, became unenthusiastic after his election as president. Certainly, it would be stupidity on the part of Washington to sacrifice the deep and historic strategic ties between the two countries and intertwined common interests in order to satisfy Congress representatives who instigate hatred and enmity toward Saudi Arabia and mistrust its former and current leadership. That is why the Saudi leadership has been careful not to comment on the recent rhetoric of the Democratic leaders. Minister of State Adel Al-Jubeir, in an interview with Fox channel, reaffirmed the Kingdom's sagacious position when he stated that Saudi Arabia does not think about the way its opponents spoke, and that supply and demand alone govern its dealings with oil.
