Egypt urges dialogue in Libya

Egypt has called on all Libyan parties and groups to immediately halt ongoing violence and resort to self-restraint and dialogue.
Egyptian Foreign Ministry expressed in a statement support for a homegrown Libyan solution that would fulfill the expectations and hopes of the Libyan people, and ensure their country's stability.
The ministry stressed the necessity of protecting civilians and halting violence in order to save lives and restore security and stability in Libya.
Libyan Health Ministry said in a statement on Saturday that 12 people were killed and 87 others injured in clashes in Tripoli, calling on warring parties to allow rescue crews to reach and save all those in the confrontation areas.
In Manama, the Kingdom of Bahrain expressed its deep concern and regret over the armed clashes that took place in the Libyan capital, Tripoli, which threaten the security and safety of Libyan citizens and expose the country to great danger.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs in the Kingdom of Bahrain called on the Libyan parties to stop armed clashes, prevent bloodshed and any further escalation.
This is in addition to pursuing political dialogue to resolve the differences between the two parties to the conflict, preserve the higher interests of Libya, and achieve the aspirations of its people for peace, development and prosperity.
The ministry reiterated Bahrain's position in support of Libya in a manner that preserves its sovereignty, security and stability.
The Arab Parliament, on Sunday, too expressed deep concern about the developments in the Libyan capital, Tripoli, which is witnessing armed confrontations that led to several civilian deaths and injuries.
In a statement, the parliament urged all parties and national forces to stop violence and escalation, to exercise restraint in order to prevent bloodshed, return to dialogue, preserve the capabilities of the Libyan people, and reach a solution that achieves stability in Libya.
It expressed full solidarity with Libya, offering condolences to the families of the victims and wishing a speedy recovery to the injured.
On Saturday, Libyan Health Ministry said in a statement that there were numerous causalities in clashes in Tripoli, calling on engaged parties to allow rescue crews to reach and save all those in the confrontation areas.
In Jeddah, the Secretariat General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) affirmed that "it is following up, with great concern, the security developments in Tripoli, which led to many deaths and injuries".
In a statement, the OIC urged all Libyan parties to stop violence, protect civilians and avoid escalation, calling for calm and dialogue to resolve differences at this delicate stage in Libya. The Secretariat General stressed the OIC's keenness on the security, stability and safety of Libya and its people. — Agencies
