MINA — The Saudi Ministry of Health announced on Thursday that it has an advanced system that is used during the Hajj season for early detection of epidemics. It also confirmed that the health condition of the pilgrims is reassuring and that no epidemic cases have been reported among the pilgrims. The Ministry of Health has equipped primary healthcare centers that are among the most important health points in providing curative and preventive services to pilgrims at the Holy Sites. There are a total of 93 health centers that are spread on all geographical areas of the Holy Sites, such as Mina, Arafat and Muzdalifah, in addition to the Jamarat Bridge area that enables pilgrims to reach them quickly and directly. The health centers are supplied with all the necessary equipment as well as medicines and laboratories. These centers also provide many health services from general clinics and urgent services to pilgrims who are suffering with injuries and heat stress. These centers provide the necessary services for patients with chronic diseases, through highly qualified health and administrative cadres working around the clock and on a daily basis without interruption. At their entry points and mission headquarters, pilgrims receive health education that highlight how to prevent heat stress, heat stroke, respiratory and skin diseases and so on. Meanwhile, the ministry's 937 call center services continue to provide telephone medical consultations and other services.
