No need for a field visit to those counted through self-enumeration: Dr. Aloef
Published in The Saudi Gazette on 11 - 05 - 2022

RIYADH — The Director General of Social Statistics at the General Authority for Statistics (GASTAT), Dr. Fatimah Aloef has confirmed that there will be no need for a field visit of the researcher to those counted through self-enumeration in the Saudi Census 2022 program.
According to Akhbar 24, Dr. Aloef said, during the sidelines of the General Authority for Statistics ceremony to launch the Saudi Census 2022, that the number of people who have been counted through the self-enumeration "electronic", the field researcher will be provided with their information in advance, and therefore there will be no need to make a field visit to them to count their numbers.
The Ministry of Statistics was keen to include the two methods of enumerating the citizens and residents during the Saudi Census 2022 program, Dr. Aloef confirmed, noting that the two methods are the e-self-enumeration and counting through the visit of the field researcher.
Dr. Aloef said that the ministry's keenness not to cancel the customary method of population enumeration by visiting the field researcher, is due to its full awareness of the diversity of society, as there are large segments that still do not use e-applications, and in this way, the field researcher will be able to access, cover and count such segments.
With the support of the wise leadership of Saudi Arabia, the Saudi Census 2022 is considered the first Census of its kind in which women participate alongside men, she added.
Dr. Aloef said that women participate in this Census in several jobs, from supervisory jobs to field jobs, noting that they have not ignored women protection and safety during their work.
The General Authority for Statistics has launched the self-enumeration link, where it invited everyone to participate in it by filling out the census form via: https://survey.saudicensus.sa/ar
It is noteworthy that the Saudi Census 2022 program is the fifth census in Saudi Arabia's history, as the last general Census of population and housing in the Kingdom was conducted in 2010, where the population at that time stood at 27,136,977 people.
The GASTAT has emphasized that the communication between Census enumerators, who are tasked to collect information and data related to Saudi Census 2022, and citizens and residents would only be through the uniform number of the authority and there would be no communication by the officials with the public through their mobile numbers.
The authority announced this on the occasion of the official commencement of the Saudi Census 2022 on May 10.
