Published in The Saudi Gazette on 17 - 04 - 2013

DUBAI – Sony Mobile Communications (Sony Mobile) announced Tuesday the launch of the new Xperia SP that delivers 4G LTE performance, the latest camera features and a stunning 4.6” HD Reality Display for razor sharp pictures and superior brightness, utilizing the expertise from Sony's BRAVIA TV engineers.
The smartphone's Mobile BRAVIA Engine 2 analyses content type and adjusts the image automatically to deliver an even better viewing experience, making it one of the most intelligent smartphone screens. The engine makes the adjustment by adding new real-time contrast optimization to the sharpness enhancement, high-quality color management and noise reduction.
The Xperia SP offers the best of Sony with a range of technologies for the ultimate user experience, including NFC connectivity for one-touch function, 8MP fast-capture camera, battery Stamina mode for extended battery life.
Spyridon Gousetis, Director of Marketing, Sony Mobile Communications, Middle East and Africa, said: “Building on the sleek design and innovation that Sony Mobile is recognized for, the new Xperia SP also features a number of enhancements that amplify user experiences. Equipped with the BRAVIA Engine 2 technology and 4G LTE capabilities, the new smartphone delivers the best of Sony's expertise to a wider consumer profile.”
The device sports a precision-crafted and co-molded aluminum frame for a seamless, sleek, solid and stunning look. Taking the unique design innovation a step further, the device also features a color-changing ‘transparent element' with customizable illuminations that users can personalize to receive alerts of incoming calls and text messages. One can even set the illuminations to flash to the beats of their favorite music.
The smartphone also benefits from Sony's signature media apps for enjoying photos, music, movies and games on the go and offers a consistent entertainment experience. The ‘Walkman' and ‘Album' apps provide online and offline content through a single access point with new ways to enjoy and share that content. The ‘Walkman' application also directs to downloaded music and Facebook social integration. The ‘Album' application allows quick browsing of photos of Facebook friends or images by location.
Sony Mobile's new Xperia SP is currently available across leading electronics retailers in the Middle East.
Its key features, among others, are precision crafted and co-molded aluminum frame that weighs 155 grams, Google Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean) operating system and 1.7 GHz Qualcomm MSM8960Pro Dual Core processor, Superbright 4.6 720p HD Reality Display with Mobile BRAVIA Engine 2, one-touch functions with NFC to share music and photos between devices, 4G LTE for superfast entertainment and browsing, and 8MP fast-capture camera with Exmor RS for mobile, HDR and Superior Auto for the best photos, even at night or against a strong backlight. — SG
