The board of trustees of the King Khalid Foundation (KKF) approved periodicity of the King Khalid Award (KKA) to become every two years instead of every year as of this year. KKA Secretary General Saud Al-Shammari noted that the decision to grant the award every two years is based on a recommendation by the specialized committee of the board of trustees of the King Khalid Foundation and the outcomes and recommendations it reached. He added that the decision will contribute to granting participants enough time to review and apply development recommendations that the award provides them with by the end of each edition He noted that efforts will be exerted to invest in building the capabilities of participants and developing their skills through offering intensified training programs that were designed to suit all targeted and concerned categories with the outcomes of the award and its criteria. He pointed out that since the launch of the awards, around 13 years ago, the award has been keen to boost its social impact through effective support to beneficiaries of social initiatives, non-for-profit organizations and private sector institutions. He noted that the award seeks to contribute to developing their organizational efficiencies, scientific capabilities and impact of their works to enable them to serve their society in a better way through sustainable solutions. — SPA
