RIYADH — Minister of Economy and Planning Fahd Al-Ibrahim said that the Saudi population census 2022 will be completely digital. He said that there will be 34 sites in 25 governorates across the Kingdom for the self-enumeration process. Appearing on Al-Arabiya channel's "Fourth Bulletin" program, Al-Ibrahim spoke about the progress being made with regard to conducting the census in the Kingdom during the current year. "The census data in the Kingdom has not been updated since 2010. The Saudi census 2022 contains 50 questions that aim to gather a wide range of information for creating a comprehensive demographic database," he said. The minister stressed that satellite technologies and artificial intelligence have been employed to determine the inhabited area, instead of relying on residential plans and maps. "There will be participation of women employees in all phases of the census process, including research and field surveys," he added.
