THEE AIN - 58 heritage houses in the ancient village of Dhi Ain in Al-Baha region, have celebrated of inscribing Arabic Calligraphy on the UNESCO's representative list of intangible cultural heritage. The celebrations took place in the village by decorating the facade of the ancient houses, in addition to light inspired by the identity of Arabic calligraphy and sound shows, as the Heritage Authority confirmed that the celebration will last for a week. According to the UNESCO website, the archaeological village of Dhi Ain is characterized by an authentic heritage and a long history, which dates back to the end of the tenth century AH (eighth century AD), making its age more than 400 years. The palaces of the village of Dhi Ain amount to about 58 palaces as it has been built of stone which located on a mountain of white quartz, in addition to that it includes a mosque to perform the five obligatory prayers and Friday prayers. Dhi Ain Village is unique in its archaeological buildings that are symmetrical in a hierarchical manner at the top of the White Mountain, in addition to embracing its waterfall. The people of Dhi Ain village said that they are proud of choosing their village to celebrate the inscribing of the Arabic calligraphy in the UNESCO' list, as they confirmed that the village receives many delegations and visitors from inside and outside the Kingdom to see and explore its heritage and history.
