MADINAH – Emir of Madinah Prince Faisal Bin Salman visited the eminent calligrapher Sheikh Othman Taha and congratulated him on the occasion of being granted Saudi citizenship. Prince Faisal visited Sheikh Taha, the sheikh of calligraphers, at his home to greet him following the issuance of a royal order by Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman to grant him Saudi citizenship in recognition of his outstanding contributions in the service of the Holy Qur'an for a long period of time spanning over 38 years. He had prepared 12 manuscript copies of the Holy Qur'an with the approved narrations. During the visit, Prince Faisal said that Sheikh Taha is deserved to be honored at the Place of Revelation of the Holy Qur'an and the Qibla of Muslims. He lauded Sheikh Taha's good reputation in the Islamic world because of his remarkable contributions and services while working at the King Fahd Complex for the Printing of the Holy Qur'an since 1980s. On his part, Sheikh Taha, who hailed from the Syrian city of Aleppo, expressed his immense pride and joy over the decision of King Salman to grant him citizenship, saying that this reflects the utmost care that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia as well as its leadership and people, pay to the Holy Qur'an and its followers. He also thanked Prince Faisal for visiting him. "This visit comes as an embodiment of the overwhelming joy expressed by the people and prominent figures of the city ever since the issuance of the royal decision was made public," he added.
