Under the patronage of Badr bin Abdullah bin Farhan Al Saud, Minister of Culture, the activities of the first edition of Diriyah Biennale for Contemporary Art kicked off Saturday in a ceremony held in Jax District in Diriyah. The inauguration was held in the presence of the General Supervisor of Cultural Affairs and International Relations at Ministry of Culture; Vice President of the Board of Trustees of Diriyah Biennale Foundation Rakan Bin Ibrahim Al-Touq; CEO of Diriyah Biennale Foundation Aya Al-Bakri; a number of princes and ministers, and about 1,000 personalities of local and international artists, intellectuals and media men. On Friday, The Diriyah Biennale Foundation organized a press conference to reveal the details of the Diriyah Biennale for Contemporary Art, which will run for three months in Jax neighborhood in Diriyah. The Diriyah Biennale for Contemporary Art includes works for more than 60 international artists, in the first international biennale hosted by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Al-Touq, stressed that this event is important because it is considered as a meeting point for the world, and a platform to showcase the best products of art and creativity. — SPA
