MoI, Saudi Exports participate in 2021 GITEX in Dubai
Published in The Saudi Gazette on 17 - 10 - 2021

The Ministry of Interior Undersecretary and Head of Supervisory Committee of the ministry's pavilion at GITEX Eng. Abdullah Al-Rabiah inaugurated Sunday the Ministry of Interior's platform participating in 2021 GITEX , which is being held in Dubai between Oct. 17 and 21.
During the inauguration ceremony, Eng. Al-Rabiah noted that the ministry is participating in the event for the seventh consecutive time and looks forward to offering a unique experience in the 2021 GITEX through a unified platform that combines all the ministry's security and services agencies.
The Ministry of Interior this year is participating with five main pillars including digital drivers and their role in governance for the service of clients; the ministry's services to guests of the Grand Mosque; dealing with events, crises and work procedures; the future of security services and work and the role of modern technologies in fighting crime and making cities safer; and the best use of technology through the ministry's internal Absher platform to enable all the ministry's employees and personnel to administrate the ministry's financial and human resources.
The five pillars aim at highlighting the successes and achievements that the ministry has realized under the Saudi Vision 2030, where visitors will have an opportunity to check on the new versions of smart applications and e-systems that have contributed to developing procedures and offering better services.
Meanwhile, Saudi Exports Development Authority is participating in 2021 GITEX in Dubai. It is one of the participants, which is seeing more than 26 Saudi companies from the ICT sector taking part.
The Authority's participation is part of its role in promoting national exports at the regional and international levels and directing the purchasing power towards national products and services through international exhibitions, increasing the contribution of the private sector to the GDP to 65% and increasing the non-oil exports to some 50% of the non-oil GDP by 2030.
The Authority is participating under the Made in Saudi, which is one of the national initiatives launched under the National Industrial Development and Logistics Program (NIDLP).
Made in Saudi was launched by Authority last March under the patronage of Crown Prince Muhammad Bin Salman, where the program aims at increasing local consumption and the market share of local goods and services, increasing the percentage of Saudi non-oil exports to priority export markets, and contributing to enhancing the attractiveness of the Saudi industrial sector for local and foreign investment.
The telecommunication sector's exports reached SR2.76 billion, increasing by 7% during the first half of 2021 compared to the same period of 2020. GITEX is considered the biggest technological event in the Middle East, where the exhibition annually welcomes around 150,000 visitors. — SPA
