RIYADH — Minister of Human Resources and Social Development Eng. Ahmed Al-Rajhi and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Burundi Albert Shingiro signed two cooperation agreements at the ministry headquarters here on Sunday, the Saudi Press Agency reported. The agreements aimed to enhance cooperation in the field of labor between the two countries, especially to hiring domestic workers. The agreements will contribute to recruiting workers from Burundi to work in the professions legally defined in the Kingdom, as well as to protect the rights of both employers and workers. It also targets to organize the contractual relationship between employers and workers, and activate several related procedures, including the application of a mutually acceptable system for hiring Burundian domestic workers in the Kingdom in accordance to the laws, rules and regulations in force. Speaking on the occasion, Al-Rajhi stated that these agreements come within the ministry's plans to build complementary relations and strategic partnerships at the international level with various ministries and sectors with services and common areas, in order to expand the horizons of international cooperation and achieve national goals in line with the Kingdom's Vision 2030. The signing ceremony was attended by senior officials of the two countries and they include Deputy Minister of Human Resources and Social Development for the Labor Sector Dr. Abdullah Abuthunain, Deputy Minister for Labor Affairs Abdul Majeed Al-Rashoodi, Deputy Minister for International Affairs Dr. Adnan Al-Naim, Burundi's Assistant Minister of Labor and Employment Adolphe Paneko, and Ambassador of Burundi to the Kingdom Jacques Yacoub Nayo.
