MoH says immune status only for those who completed vaccination, effective from Oct. 10
Published in The Saudi Gazette on 03 - 10 - 2021

RIYADH — The Ministry of Health announced on Sunday that the status of immunization against coronavirus would be given only for those who have completed vaccination effective after Oct. 10.
The health status will be shown immune on the Tawakkalna application only for those who received two doses of any of the vaccines of Pfizer-BionTech, Oxford-AstraZeneca, and Moderna, or one dose of Johnson & Johnson vaccine.
The status of immune starts from the date of taking the second dose of the three approved vaccines while the status of immune in the case of those who took Johnson & Johnson vaccine will be considered 14 days after taking the first dose.
The ministry said that the Saudi Data and Artificial Intelligence Authority (SDAIA) would start updating the health status of all people in the Kingdom on the Tawakkalna application after Oct. 10.
These include those who have completed immunization with the vaccines approved in the Kingdom or approved by the World Health Organization (WHO) or those who received a single dose or those who have been confirmed of not infected with the disease.
According to the ministry, the health status will be immune for those who received two doses of Sinopharm and Sinovac vaccines that are approved by WHO and an additional booster dose of one of the approved vaccines in the Kingdom.
The approved vaccines are Pfizer, AstraZeneca or Moderna and the immune status will be considered from the date of taking the additional dose of one of the approved vaccines in the Kingdom.
The MoH emphasized that the health status of immune will not include those who received one dose of vaccine and recovered from infection of coronavirus before or after the date of taking the first dose.
The ministry further clarified that the health status of those, who received one dose of Pfizer, AstraZeneca or Moderna or those who received two doses of Sinopharm and Sinovac vaccines approved by WHO, will be "Received first dose" on the Tawakkalna application.
And the status will be counted from the date of taking the second dose of the vaccine. In the event of taking the second dose 90 days after taking the first dose, then the status will turn into "No proven infection", and if the second dose is taken, then the status will be changed to "immune."
According to the ministry, the health status "Not proven to be infected" will be for the age group less than 12 years, and the health status "not immune" will be for the beneficiary who is over 12 years old and has not received the vaccination.
The ministry stressed that the one who recovered from coronavirus will have neither any current status nor it is considered as a health status.
