No unvaccinated person will be allowed into educational facility, minister warns

RIYADH — The Minister of Education Dr. Hamad Al Sheikh warned that no student or any one of the education staff would be allowed to enter the educational facility until receiving two doses of the COVID-19 vaccine.
The minister of education lauded the generous support that the education sector enjoys from the leadership during a meeting on Saturday with the education directors in the regions and governorates of the Kingdom in preparation for the start of the school year on Sunday.
He stressed the importance of adhering to the health protocols and procedures reported to maintain the safety of students, teachers, and administrators.
The minister said that our responsibility is great for the student's educational journey to be safe, healthy, and reassuring for the family and parents.
He called for the application of operational models for the return of in-person learning, and to follow up the implementation of the conditions and controls contained therein.
"The director of education is primarily responsible for implementing health procedures and following up the implementation of operational models," he said.
He mentioned that it is a participatory and hierarchical responsibility of the director of education, his assistants, the directors of education offices, the schools and even the teachers in their classrooms, stressing that our goal is to preserve the safety of students.
He pointed out that more than six million male and female students, full of hopes and ambition, would start their academic year on Sunday, and look forward to providing them with all services and equipment; to ensure the success of the educational process and the achievement of its desired goals.
Also, the minister of education, met with universities presidents to review the periodic reports for the start of the university academic year, and to ensure the implementation of the precautionary measures and protocols to preserve the safety of students and the university employees.
The meeting dealt with emphasizing the need for faculty members, students and administrators to receive two doses of the COVID-19 vaccine to enter the educational facilities, continuing the efforts to urge the university employees to take the vaccine, and praising the efforts of vaccine delivery centers in universities, and their role in the community service.
The Minister of Education reviewed the efforts made to harmonize and coordinate between the universities to unify the efforts and decisions that achieve the interest of the students.
