RIYADH — Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman has sent a cable of congratulations to Pakistan President Arif Alvi on the eve of the anniversary of his country's Independence Day. The Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques wished the Pakistani president good health and happiness and the government and people of Pakistan steady progress and prosperity, the Saudi Press Agency reported on Friday. Crown Prince Muhammad Bin Salman, deputy premier and minister of defense, has sent a similar cable to the Pakistani president. Independence Day is a national holiday in Pakistan and it is observed annually on Aug. 14. The day commemorates Pakistan's independence from British rule in 1947.
