RIYADH — Authorities will extend visas for residents stranded outside Saudi Arabia due to the outbreak of coronavirus until Aug. 31 free of charge in the implementation of the directive of Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman. The decision applies to expatriates from countries where entry to the Kingdom is currently banned. The General Directorate of Passports (Jawazat) has already begun to extend visit visas and exit and re-entry visas free of charge until the end of August, the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported. The move, which has been taken by the finance ministry, comes as part of efforts of the Saudi government to deal with the effects and repercussions of the COVID-19 pandemic, the SPA added.
