RIYADH — Crown Prince Muhammad Bin Salman, deputy premier and minister of defense, inaugurated eight housing and medical projects for Ministry of Defense staff in several provinces on Sunday.
This comes as a part of the developmental projects carried out recently by the ministry at a total cost exceeding SR4 billion.
These include six housing projects with 3,797 units, comprising the housing project in King Saud Air Base in Hafar Al Batin; housing for Armed Forces in the Northwest region; family housing project in King Salman Bin Abdulaziz Center for Mountain War in Taif; and Armed Forces housing project in Sharurah.
This is in addition to the Phase 1 of the Armed Forces housing project in Jazan and Phase 2 of the Armed Forces housing project in the Eastern Province.
The Crown Prince also inaugurated a number of medical projects, including the heart center project in the Armed Forces Hospital in the Northwest region with a capacity of 130 beds.
He also opened the extension of Prince Sultan Armed Forces Hospital in Madinah, which will raise the bed capacity to 100 beds and add 10 ICU units and operating rooms equipped with the latest medical equipment, emergency departments, radiology and laboratory, pharmacy, and blood bank.
Assistant Minister of Defense for Executive Affairs Khalid Al-Biyari said that the completion and inauguration of these projects come in implementation of the sound directives of the Crown Prince, and within the framework of his constant concern for the armed forces, through providing suitable housing, and integrated healthcare services for its employees.
He added that these vital projects come within a series of projects to secure housing units for the armed forces employees, in line with the topnotch standards and specifications in design and implementation, in addition to developing and expanding existing health facilities, and supplying them with the latest medical and technical equipment, in line with Vision 2030.
