The Saudi Public Transport Authority (PTA) has reported that that more than one million people have benefited from the E-Services being provided through its Transport Portal, which supports the land and sea transport sectors. With more than 200 E-Services, the 17 steps for starting business in transport activities were decreased to 5 electronic steps which currently can be accomplished through this electronic portal. The transportation sector is one of the strategic and vital ones and has witnessed a significant growth in light of the Kingdom Vision 2030, which aims to make Saudi Arabia as a global logistics center. The PTA pointed out that the Transport Portal serves more than 30 activities in the transportation sector, where 15,000 licenses, more than 700,000 operating cards and more than 150,000 driver cards were issued for various activities. The PTA added that vehicles and ships can be registered via the portal, in addition to issuing marine surveyors' cards, acknowledgement and insurance certificates and traffic letters. According to the daily average, the Transport Portal succeeded in providing more than 3,000 electronic transactions around the clock. — SPA
