RIYADH — Prospects for providing sites for setting up green spaces, like training playgrounds for football academies, to the private sector in several cities of the Kingdom, were recently explored. The matter was discussed during a virtual meeting held recently by the Minister of Sports Prince Abdulaziz Bin Turki Al-Faisal with the Minister of Municipal and Rural Affairs and Housing Majed Al-Huqail to discuss aspects of cooperation between the two sides. The discussions covered ways of overcoming the challenges facing investors in the sports sector and highlighting several investment opportunities in them. During the meeting, they also discussed a number of joint programs and initiatives, to be carried out jointly by the two sides, in cooperation with the Saudi Arabian Football Federation (SAFF), in different regions and governorates of the Kingdom, such that the targets of the Kingdom's Vision 2030 are achieved. They include developing the playgrounds and municipal open spaces in the residential districts, cooperation in holding joint sports tournaments and competitions in all of the Kingdom's cities and governorates, in coordination with the League of District Teams, so as to discover and polish the young talents. The meeting was attended by the Assistant Minister of Sports Abdelilah Bin Saad Al-Dallaak, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Municipal and Rural Affairs and Housing for Planning and Programs Khalid Al-Deghaithir, the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Sports for Planning and Development Adhwaa Al-Eraifi, and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Saudi Arabian Football Federation (SAFF) Yasser Al-Mis'hil.
