No PCR test for coronavirus 'immune' visitors from GCC as Bahrain unveils new entry rules
Published in The Saudi Gazette on 07 - 05 - 2021

MANAMA — Travelers from Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries, who have been inoculated against coronavirus or have recovered from it, will no longer have to undergo a PCR test for the virus upon their arrival in Bahrain.
The move, which will come into force on the first day of Eid Al-Fitr, does not apply to the age group between 6-17 years, the Bahrain News Agency reported early Friday citing a statement from the country's top committee to deal with coronavirus.
Meanwhile, the visitors from the GCC states can confirm their vaccination or recovery status on the official app being used in their respective countries.
Travelers arriving in Bahrain from the United Kingdom, the European Union, the United States and Canada need to show the approved vaccination certificates, which will be verified. They, however, need to undergo a PCR test upon entering the country and on the fifth day after their arrival and self-quarantine until the result of the test is out.
With regard to all vaccinated visitors not included in the above, it has been decided to accept the vaccination certificates approved in their countries and they must carry a QR code of the test result. They will be provided with a card proving the acceptance of their vaccination certificates after verification. They also need to take a PCR test upon arrival and on the fifth and tenth day and self-quarantine until the results of the test are out.
Additionally, all travelers coming from India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka Nepal, including transit travelers, aged 6 years and over, must present a certificate proving the negative result of the laboratory examination for coronavirus containing a QR code 48 hours before the departure time. They also need to undergo tests on the fifth and tenth day of their arrival.
Meanwhile, those below the age of 12 will be able to enjoy indoor services, provided that they are accompanied by a vaccinated or recovered adult. Entry for those aged 12-17 is permitted in all cases. Non-vaccinated individuals and non-recovered individuals are not permitted to enter or make use of the indoor services set out below:
— All indoor dining services at restaurants and cafes
— Indoor gymnasiums
— Indoor swimming pools
— Indoor cinemas
