Interior ministry's panel brings about qualitative change in ministerial system
Published in The Saudi Gazette on 23 - 04 - 2021

RIYADH — Minister of Interior Prince Abdulaziz Bin Saud Bin Naif said that the Committee for the Development of the Ministry of Interior has been instrumental in bringing about a qualitative change in the overall ministerial system.
He said that the first phase of the integrated beginnings of the development program has so far contributed to a big jump in the number of users of the Absher portal reaching 21 million users from 8 million within a span of three years. Other achievements include the creation of the Special Forces for Environmental Security, developing a system of qualification for the ministry's male and female employees through introducing training programs, keeping pace with the best international practices.
The minister affirmed that the ministry officials are striving, with the leadership's continuous support, to reach a high-performance system that enhances national security and safety of the community by making available the highest level of services in order to achieve the goals of the Kingdom's Vision 2030.
Prince Abdulaziz noted that a royal order was issued at the end of the Hijri year 1438 to form a committee to develop the Ministry of Interior, headed by Crown Prince Muhammad Bin Salman to achieve comprehensive development of the ministerial system and to play the role assigned to it optimally by following the scientific foundations and the best international practices of similar bodies.
The minister said that the work of the program began with an assessment of the current situation through more than 100 field visits to regions, cities, and border crossings around the Kingdom. "Our country was able to top in a number of international security indicators, and to reach advanced levels in the people's sense of safety," he added.
