Zoono's antimicrobial technology brings game-changing solution in infection prevention
Published in The Saudi Gazette on 16 - 04 - 2021

Surfaces can pose a significant threat as a source of microbiological contamination and hence companies have always introduced latest technology products to improve consistently the product quality as well as the safety of their plant workers. In this context, Saudi Arabia for the first time introduced in the food industry the worldwide popular Zoono, Z-71 New Zealand-based company's latest nano-tech developed surface disinfectant/sanitizer, that protects any surface for 30 days with a single application.
In an event held recently a memento titled, "This facility is under protection of Zoono" was presented to the QC /QA Dept. Manager M.A. Baig, who received the plaque on behalf of LUNA (NFIC) which was presented by Eng. Shaikh Shakeel M. Ahmed, CEO of MK International Est. and a member of Roudah Group & (Food, Pharma & Healthcare Sector) distributor of Zoono Saudi Arabia.
The NFIC, QA & the safety team arranged detailed fogging of Z – 71 at all their critical facilities to protect cross infection and contamination to their workers & administrative staff including the logistics department — all trucks & cars' cabins were disinfected to protect their workers continuously for next 30 days without exercising hectic fogging with the routine type of toxic chemicals which lasts till it is in wet condition since the surface becomes prone for contamination immediately it gets dried (evaporation of alcohol content).
Hence, the NFIC at the event highlighted that the Zoono – Z 71 is cost-effective (cheaper than routine toxic disinfectants), food-grade safe and provides long-lasting hassle-free protection for their facility and workers for 30 days after each fogging frequency from any kind of pandemic virus, bacteria and molds.
Zoono's "physical kill" replaces the need for dangerous poisons, chemicals and alcohol. This method of rupturing the cell means the cell cannot mutate, preventing the development of superbugs. Zoono is colorless, odorless, non-leaching, environmentally safe, non-corrosive and whilst completely gentle for humans and animals, it is deadly for a wide range of bacteria and viruses.
Zoono does not contain harmful chemicals, as a liquid Zoono is less toxic than vitamin C and coffee. When it is applied to a surface by spraying, wiping or 'fogging', Zoono leaves behind a mono-molecular layer that permanently bonds to the surface. These molecules are antimicrobial, silane-based polymers that covalently bond to the surface forming a barrier of positively charged microscopic pins.
The positively charged microscopic pins attract and pierce negatively charged pathogens. The pins rupture the cell walls. This causes the pathogen to break up with lethal effects. The layer of molecular antimicrobial pins carries on working for up to 30 days on surfaces.
Routine cleaning can continue and does not disrupt the Zoono molecule or its antimicrobial activity. Hence, it performs to kill all kinds of deadliest viruses including COVID-19, H1N1, SARS, MEARS and even Ebola.
Zoono products use 98% purified, deionized water & an antimicrobial compound. It uses a Quaternary Ammonium Compound – these are commonly used antibacterial agents found in products such as toothpaste, contact lens products, cosmetics, soaps.
While Zoono's quaternary ammonium compound originates from natural sand the process is synthetic. Its trade secret lies in the technology behind the quaternary ammonium compound, which enables Zoono to stay active and continue killing pathogens for long periods of time.
Zoono kills germs by creating a Defensive Shield of antimicrobial nano-spikes that destroys germs on contact. Because Zoono destroys by puncturing the pathogens, it is efficient and prevents mutation of germs. Zoono works differently: rather than poisoning or dehydrating germs, Zoono Microbe Shield lays down a protective barrier on surfaces that does not allow germs to grow.
By treating surfaces in this way, those surfaces stay cleaner longer. In fact, treated surfaces can stay germ-free for up to 30 days with a single application. Zoono protects surfaces with a protective antimicrobial barrier that kills germs by puncturing them rather than dehydrating with alcohol, thus preventing their ability to develop resistance.
It can be used on common surfaces found in and around offices, factories, healthcare laboratories, hospitality, school nurseries, supermarkets, banks ATMs, traveling transportation, food preparations, abattoirs, poultry, bottling plants, mosques, air conditioning hygienic air quality, marine industries, mold & odor remediation in homes etc.
Zoono is a new technology that is changing the way the world deals with germs of all kinds giving you one less thing to worry about. The more you know about Zoono, the more confident you will be in knowing that you are doing the very best for your family and your home. — SG
