Saudi, other Gulf leaders send condolences to UK royals following death of Prince Philip

RIYADH — Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman and Crown Prince Muhammad sent their sincere condolences and sympathy to Queen Elizabeth II of the United Kingdom on the death of Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh.
In their messages, the King and the Crown Prince said: "We have received with utmost sorrow the news of the death of His Royal Highness Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh, and as we express to Your Majesty, the royal family and the friendly people of the United Kingdom, the warmest condolences and sincere sympathy, and we pray for your wellbeing".
King Salman and Crown Prince Muhammad Bin Salman sent separate cables of condolences to Prince Charles on the death of his father, offering their condolences to Prince of Wales and the royal family.
Other leaders from the Gulf Cooperation Council also offered their condolence to the British royal family.
Bahrain King Hamad Bin Isa Al-Khalifa sent cables of condolences to Queen Elizabeth II over the passing of her husband, Prince Philip.
In his message, the Bahraini monarch extended deepest condolences and consolation to the queen, as well as to the British government and people, wishing mercy for the deceased and patience for the UK royal family.
King Hamad also sent a cable of condolences to Prince Charles.
Bahrain's Crown Prince Salman Bin Hamad Al-Khalifa sent a separate cable of condolences to Queen Elizabeth II, offering his deepest condolences to her and the British people and underlining the depth of the partnership between Bahrain and the UK.
Oman's Sultan Haitham Bin Tariq also sent a cable of condolences to Queen Elizabeth II on the death of her husband Prince Philip.
Kuwait's Emir Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah and Crown Prince Sheikh Mishal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah sent separate cables to Prince Charles, expressing deepest condolences on the demise of his father.
Leaders of the United Arab Emirates were quick to express their condolences to the British royal family over the death of Prince Philip.
UAE President Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al-Nahyan, Vice President and Prime Minister Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al-Maktoum and Abu Dhabi Crown Prince Sheikh Mohamed Bin Zayed Al-Nahyan expressed their heartfelt condolences and sincere sympathy to Queen Elizabeth ll.
Sheikh Mohammed, who is also the ruler of Dubai, posted a message on Twitter, saying: "On behalf of people of UAE, I extend my sincere condolences to Queen Elizabeth II & the people of the United Kingdom over the demise of Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh. A close friend to the UAE & other nations, he will always be remembered for his devotion to his country and people."
