Winners of Princess Seetah Bint Abdulaziz Award to be honored on March 28

RIYADH — Winners of the eighth edition of the Princess Seetah Awards were announced on Thursday and they will be honored on March 28, the Saudi Press Agency reported.
The award ceremony will be organized by the General Secretariat of Princess Seetah Bint Abdulaziz Award under the patronage of Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salma and it will be held virtually due to the prevailing coronavirus situation in the Kingdom.
The secretary-general of the award, Dr. Fahd bin Hamad Al-Maghlouth, explained that this year's awards focused on how the nominees made an impact with their social works during times of crises and risks due to the coronavirus pandemic.
The winners were honored for their works in five different categories of social service.
The health ministry's volunteering program and education ministry's distance learning digital platform "Madrasti" (my school) bagged the award for excellence in national achievement.
General Authority for Endowments was given the award for excellence in Islamic endowment helping the people during the pandemic through its humanitarian initiatives.
The Madinah Al-Munawarah's NGO received the award for excellence in social work for its "The good city initiative".
Sheikh Abdullah Ibrahim Al-Subeai was bestowed with the award for excellence in social work entrepreneurship for establishing a charitable institution and donating money to the needy in the Kingdom during the pandemic.
Advanced Petrochemical Company and Sadara Chemical Company were given the award for excellence in corporate social responsibility for their works with the health sector in tackling COVID-19.
For her part, Princess Nouf Bint Abdullah Bin Muhammad Bin Saud Al-Kabeer, chair of the executive committee and a member of the Board of Trustees of the Princess Seetah bint Abdulaziz Award said that the award is keeping pace with the developments and changes taking place around the world.
"The award continues to support and encourage initiatives, programs, and humanitarian work that benefit society, and create a competitive environment among the pioneers of social work," Princess Nouf added.
