GOSI: SANED support for Saudis during period of unemployment
Published in The Saudi Gazette on 11 - 01 - 2021

RIYADH — The General Organization for Social Insurance (GOSI) has confirmed that the SANED program is one of the organization's programs that help to care for the Saudi employees and their families during the period of their unemployment due to circumstances beyond their control.
The program works to bridge the gap by providing a monthly source of income during the transitional period between the previous job and obtaining a new job.
The organization said, during its ongoing campaign aimed to enhance awareness about the benefits of SANED, that unemployed citizen must apply for SANED compensation within 90 days of leaving work.
Regarding the method of application, it clarified that an unemployed person can verify his eligibility through the GOSI's website, and if he is eligible, he can apply through his account in the GOSI online or the Taminaty application.
The organization said that the SANED compensation is paid at the rate of 60 percent of the average monthly wages subject to contribution for each month of the first three months and at 50 percent of this average for each month for months beyond that, and the maximum period for disbursement of compensation is 12 continuous or intermittent months for each time.
The beneficiary of SANED is entitled to compensation as of the first of the month following the date on which the eligibility conditions are met and the application is submitted.
SANED is one of the most important programs that contributed to supporting subscribers and private sector establishments during the period of the coronavirus pandemic.
It had a significant impact on mitigating the economic impacts of the pandemic on private sector enterprises, which helped prevent Saudi employees from losing their jobs.
During the pandemic period, the government had announced SANED compensation for a period of three months and this period was extended later.
Under the scheme, GOSI met 60 percent of the wages of Saudi employees working in the private sector. Employers were entitled to apply for the financial compensation for those Saudi workers whose names are registered with GOSI.
It is noteworthy that the current campaign comes as a continuation of the campaigns to raise awareness about the rights and benefits of its clients under the slogan "It is your right to know."
