The GCC summit to be hosted by Saudi Arabia in AlUla will offer the Kingdom yet another stage to display its hosting capabilities and leadership qualities. The summit this Tuesday (Jan. 5, 2021), will be held during a challenging period globally due to COVID-19 but I can assure all that the summit will provide a stage for leaders to discuss and resolve issues with Saudi Arabia, after the successful staging of the G20 summit, likely emerging a perfect host once again. First and foremost, I would like to appreciate and admire, of course, King Salman's attitude in staging the GCC event. It shows not only us but also the world that Saudi Arabia has visionary leadership capable of leading humanity. It is a home for peace, as it works for a consensus among leaders to join hands in building a good future for humans and humanity. The great cultural heritage and traditions that emanate from AlUla provides a perfect background for the summit. That's why, our leaders chose it to host the GCC summit. For the significant cultures and civilizations that crisscrossed this region over thousands of years, sends out a discerning message. I think it's a welcoming message of love and peace from Saudi Arabia. The GCC summit in AlUla will also give us a good opportunity to present the natural aspect of this historical area inside Saudi Arabia. AlUla is an inspiring place as it has geographical and historical diversity. It's worth to note that Crown Prince Muhammad Bin Salman has put a lot of hope in AlUla, for it symbolizes the Saudi Vision 2030's emphasis on the tourism industry. I guess AlUla in winter is sure to boost tourism, especially with the ‘Saudi Winter Season' proving to be a big draw. King Salman has sent out gracious invitations to the GCC leaders for the 41st session of GCC summit, and I am glad to see their welcoming response in return. I expect the leaders, in these challenging times, to arrive at innovative and serious solutions that would help GCC take great strides in progress while sustaining its march in making the region a better place. My greatest hope is that with the world weary of violence the region would take a major step in alleviating misery while fostering peace, integrity and love globally while putting the interest of humans above all.
