Published in The Saudi Gazette on 01 - 12 - 2020

The Saudi Standards, Metrology and Quality Organization (SASO) has launched a new nation-wide voluntary program, aiming at recruiting and attracting the youth in the domain of quality under the theme "The National Program for the Quality Ambassadors".
In a statement, SASO said that ambassadors volunteering in the initiative will receive several benefits, the most prominent of which is obtaining a special membership card bearing the name and category of the ambassador. They will have priority to attend conferences and courses organized by the authority or program partners.
The program will raise performance levels as well as awareness of individuals regarding quality, its various programs, and applications.
It seeks to make optimal use of youth energies and harnessing them to increase awareness of quality and concepts of institutional excellence.
The program will help participants gain various skills and experiences in the fields of quality.
It will also spread and strengthen the culture of quality and institutional excellence by supporting and empowering the role of quality ambassador within the sectors.
The authority, through its voluntary initiative, seeks to attract human cadres and prepare them to spread the culture of quality and achieve the goals and initiatives of the National Quality Strategy, noting that the National Quality Strategy is the general framework and the comprehensive perception of quality and excellence in the Kingdom.
It works to build and develop the institutional performance of the main business sectors, raise the quality level of national products and services, and enhance their competitiveness by raising the efficiency of workers and the national establishments in which they work, to push all business sectors to grow and prosper in a transparent and proper manner, adding better value and a positive impact on the gross national product.
SASO pointed out that it has adopted a set of qualifying programs and courses to develop quality ambassadors chosen for the initiative, in order to provide them with skills and tools related to quality and institutional excellence for their application and participation in their sectors and societies.
It confirmed that the selection of ambassadors will be carried out according to a specific, calling on those interested and to register the program's membership. — SG
