"We Care," a social initiative of the Saudi National Home Health Care Foundation (NHHCF), has been lauded for the great role it played during the coronavirus pandemic. Commending the role of "We Care," the director-general of health affairs in Makkah Al-Mukarramah Region, Dr. Wael bin Hamza Mutair, highlighted the role of community participation during the pandemic. Recently, a team from the Community Participation Department and the Health Volunteering Department from the General Directorate of Health Affairs in Makkah Al-Mukarramah visited the headquarters of the NHHCF to honor Abeer Kabbani, vice-chairperson of the Board of Trustees of the foundation. The team consisted of department director Mahasin Bint Hassan Shuaib, representatives Ahmed Nawar Al-Otaibi and Muhammad Al-Gharibi. Abeer Kabbani received a certificate of appreciation and another certificate in the name of the foundation under the leadership of Princess Adelah bint Abdullah, chairperson of the Board of Trustees. The team wished the esteemed foundation more success. Mahasin Bin Hassan Shuaib handed the honor shield and a certificate of appreciation to Abeer Kabbani, appreciating the great efforts made by "We Care". Mahasin pointed out that the NHHCF worked side by side with hospitals as a strong line of defense, provided health supplies, and demonstrated a great national role by carrying out its institutional work according to the highest quality standards. She also said that effective partnership among community institutions has played a major role in combating the pandemic. For her part, Abeer Kabbani expressed her happiness with the honor and stressed that what "We Care" has carried out a national duty that comes within the framework of its responsibility, and embodies the great solidarity that brings together all the sons of the Saudi nation behind their wise leadership. She said that the charitable foundation has worked to provide the necessary health requirements to combat this crisis, in compliance with the directives of the official authorities. Further, "We Care" acted in the belief of the role of civil society institutions in contributing to the effective efforts made to combat the coronavirus pandemic and mitigate its effects on citizens and residents. — SG
