Published in The Saudi Gazette on 17 - 10 - 2020

NGN Training Center announced its plans to provide free, qualitative training for 5,000 Bahrainis in the fields of information security. This is part of the preparation and training of national cadres following the requirements of the new labor market and the 4th industrial revolution, and in line with supporting the efforts of the digital transformation as stipulated in Bahrain Vision 2030.
CEO of NGN Training Center Yaqoob Al Awadhi, signed MoU with the Ministry of Labor and Social Development represented by Ahmed Al Hayki as assistant undersecretary for labor affairs, in the presence of Minister Jameel Bin Ali Humaidan, Dr. Essam Ismail Al Alawi, director of training and manpower development, and Ahmed Jaafar Moftah, director of the department of professional institutes affairs.
This comes within the framework of a range of similar MoUs signed by the ministry to train job seekers for utilizing virtual training technology, and to provide the best training services that meet the needs of national cadres to qualify them and facilitate the process of their integration into private-sector establishments, and to boost the skills and abilities of job seekers to increase their opportunities of employment.
On the occasion of the MoU's signing ceremony, Al Awadhi affirmed that this initiative comes within the scope of NGN's keenness to develop its social responsibility towards the Bahraini community, and based on its accumulated expertise that demonstrates the significance of information security as a fundamental pillar of the digital transformation in numerous fields of government services, education, industry, financial services, and others.
"Through this initiative, we will focus on promoting awareness of the significance of cybersecurity for institutions, companies, and individuals coinciding with the activation of the National Center for Cybersecurity in Bahrain," Al Awadhi said.
He emphasized the support of the Ministry of Labor and Social Development for private training institutions in overcoming any difficulties, and their assistance to improve the level of services provided to citizens and implement the best training services that meet the needs of national cadres, to facilitate the process of their integration into various productive sectors and qualitative jobs.
"We are confident that the provision of qualitative training and qualification for national cadres in information security will contribute to providing more job opportunities for them, as information security sector is directly linked with modern technologies that constitute the backbone of the 4th industrial revolution, such as artificial intelligence, the Internet of things, cloud computing and others," he added.
"This initiative does not only aim to encourage young people and graduates to study specializations related to information security, but to elevate the level of awareness of various segments of citizens of the importance of the Internet privacy and maintain the security of their information and data, particularly with the expansion of digital government services and financial transfers in light of the current situation," he said.
