RIYADH — Saudi Arabia's capital, Riyadh, is scheduled to virtually host the annual G20 Interfaith Forum (Interfaith 7), beginning on Oct. 13, Saudi Press Agency reported on Monday. The five-day event will bring together more than 500 leaders, experts, and representatives of world key religious and global policy institutions in addition to high-level religious personalities. The forum is based on a partnership of a host of civil society, governmental organizations, semi-governmental organizations, humanitarian, religious values institutions, social initiatives, and academic institutions as well as decision-makers related to developmental organizations. The forum seeks to increase awareness of the role of religious organizations in implementing the UN schedule for sustainable development 2030 which accommodates 17 objectives for sustainable development. This year, the forum is expected to address some of the world's most pressing humanitarian and development issues such as the COVID-19 pandemic, poverty, migration, conflict, gender equality, and climate change. The forum also ensures that religious voices are integral partners in global relief efforts. These discussions contribute to the annual G20 Leaders' Summit, which is the premier forum for international economic cooperation.
