Saudi Arabia on Sunday denounced the knife attack that killed a Tunisian National Guard officer and wounded another in the coastal town of Sousse, Saudi Press Agency reported. President of the Arab Parliament Dr. Mishaal Bin Fahm Al-Selami also condemned the attack. In a statement, Dr. Al-Selami stressed that the cowardly terrorist act will not impede efforts of the new Tunisian government to confront the malicious groups and their sinister acts. He affirmed the Arab Parliament's solidarity and full stand with Tunisia in its war on terrorism and terrorist groups, asserting its support for all measures taken by Tunisia to confront the extremists. Tunisian authorities on Sunday announced that a National Guard patrol was attacked in Sousse, 140 km south of the capital Tunis. "A patrol of two National Guard officers was attacked with a knife in the center of Sousse," said a National Guard spokesman Houcem Eddine Jebali. "One died as a martyr and the other was wounded and is hospitalized," he said, adding that "this is a terrorist attack". — Agencies
