The UAE Ministry of Health and Prevention on Saturday reported 427 new cases of the COVID-19 coronavirus, along with 341 recoveries. No new deaths were reported. As many as 88,803 new COVID-19 tests have been carried out, the ministry added. The UAE has experienced a slight spike in cases over the past week, with Thursday's 491 confirmed cases the highest daily toll since early July. In a statement, the ministry stressed its aim to continue expanding the scope of testing nationwide to facilitate the early detection of coronavirus cases and carry out the necessary treatment. The health authorities have called upon residents to adhere to precautionary measures against COVID-19 as it is a national responsibility. Mosques and places of worship in industrial areas as well as labor accommodations in the UAE will reopen for worshipers, authorities announced late on Friday night. The authority, however, stated that the operational capacity of these places of worship will be capped at 30 percent and that worshipers must strictly adhere to all precautionary measures announced previously by the authorities to keep the faithful safe from COVID-19. The authorities said that they will ensure that all preventive and precautionary measures are implemented in mosques and places of worship before reopening them. It was also announced Friday that the mothers, employed in the federal government, with children in grade six and below or those with children of determination are allowed to work remotely from home so they can monitor and take care of their kids during the e-learning classes.
