Russia said on Saturday 111 people had died from the new coronavirus in the last 24 hours, raising the official death toll to 17,025. Russia's coronavirus taskforce reported 4,941 new cases, bringing its nationwide tally to 985,346, the fourth largest caseload in the world. According to the anti-coronavirus crisis center, the daily growth has not exceeded 0.5% for two weeks. The lowest daily growth rates were registered in the Chukotka Autonomous Region (0%), in the Moscow Region and in the Republic of Chechnya (0.2% each), Moscow, the Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Region, the Tyva Republic, the Kamchatka Region, the Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Area, the Tambov, Smolensk, and Tula Regions (0.3% each). For instance, 677 new cases were detected in Moscow, 189 — in St. Petersburg, 163 cases — in the Moscow Region, 145 — in the Nizhny Novgorod Region, and 127 cases were detected in the Rostov Region. In all, currently there are 163,938 cases of the COVID-19 infection in Russia. The number of coronavirus patients discharged over the past 24 hours in Russia has increased by 5,917, in all, 804,383 patients have recovered. According to the crisis center, the total share of recoveries to date surpassed 81.6% of the total COVID-19 case tally in Russia.
