2021, Saudization of engineering jobs
Published in The Saudi Gazette on 26 - 08 - 2020

We are going to speak about the great announcement made by the Saudi Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development in which they decided to Saudize 20% of engineering jobs effective next year — 2021.
According to the Ministry, this will cover 117 engineering careers, creating more than 7,000 jobs with a monthly income of not less than SR7,000.
We hope to hear from the Ministry more on this, especially regarding the percent of Saudization to include the pre and fresh engineering graduates with reasonable income to match today's lifestyle.
We welcome this decision of the Ministry and the Minister of Human Resources and Social Development Ahmed Al Rajhi for providing Saudi engineers with a chance to excel in the Saudi labor market.
This decision will be applied to all private sector firms with five or more employees in engineering jobs, and will not be applicable to establishments with four or less non-Saudi engineers.
The Ministry has set a timeframe for applying this percent of Saudization concerning engineering jobs, 18 weeks from the day of the announcement to make sure that 20% of the jobs are Saudized.
We are thankful to see our Saudi engineers supported by the Ministry to get jobs and suitable placements, as our Ministry offers incentives to the owners of private sectors by evolving recruitment and finding qualified candidates, including training, during the preparatory process.
By taking this step the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development is not only suppporting our engineers by giving them a platform to prove themselves, but also providing them with the opportunity to flow with their personal experience in the stream of creativity and innovation.
It is time for the labor market to gain its share of talented Saudis. I'm pretty sure this will not be difficult because the talented Saudi engineers are ready, all the way, to do their share for the country as well as display their talent in a competitive world.
The fastest way to improve the financial and intellectual condition of these engineeers is to look at what blessings that you already have and that's what our country has decided to do — it is to utilize our Saudis talents.
More success will come as the majority of our engineers have been waiting for this moment, especially those who have not started their career path in engineering, despsite studying and becoming an engineer.
The great change we are going through today has not happened accidentally or by luck. It is simply happening because there is someone who believes in us and is depending on the Saudis engineers to shape the future. It is now up to the engineers to show up and take this opportunity to display what they can contribute to this world
We would love to take few seconds to say thanks to Crown Prince Muhammad Bin Salman, for your vision is in progress and we believe in you and you believe in us. With your new move to Saudize the engineering sector, there's big cheer for you from our Saudi engineers.
