Saudi Arabia expresses solidarity with Lebanon after Beirut blast kills dozens Regional and world leaders rally behind Lebanon

RIYADH — Saudi Arabia expressed its full support and solidarity with the victims of the blasts that rocked Beirut on Tuesday, leaving dozens dead and hundreds injured.
In a statement, Saudi Arabia's Ministry of Foreign Affairs said: "The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is watching with grave concern the aftermath of the explosion that occurred in the port of Beirut today, which resulted in deaths and injuries," the statement read.
"We express our sincerest condolences and sympathies to the families of the victims and the injured. We ask God to have mercy on those who died in this tragic event, to grant those injured a speedy recovery, and to protect Lebanon from all harm."
"We affirm the Kingdom's full support and solidarity with the brotherly people of Lebanon." The statement added.
Regional and world leaders also rallied behind Lebanon, extending their whole-hearted support and expressing solidarity with the Lebanese people in their moments of sorrow and grief.
Expressing his condolence to Lebanese citizens, Sheikh Mohamed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Abu Dhabi Crown Prince, tweeted, saying: "Our thoughts and prayers are with our Lebanese brothers and sisters during these trying times. We pray that God grants you patience and solace. God bless Lebanon and the Lebanese people."
Dubai ruler Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid also expressed his support to the Lebanese people in a tweet, saying: "Our condolences to the beloved people of Lebanon ... May God, have mercy on those who passed away today ... May God grant them patience and solace."
Bahrain's foreign ministry issued a statement: "The Kingdom of Bahrain expressed its deep regret regarding the horrific explosion that took place today in a warehouse near Port of Beirut, resulting in the death and injury of numerous civilians and causing severe material damage to the outskirts of Beirut."
"The foreign ministry stressed Bahrain's solidarity with the brotherly people of Lebanon during these terrible times," the statement read.
"The ministry also extended its sincere condolences to the families of the victims and the Lebanese government and wished those injured a speedy recovery," the statement added.
Kuwait also said that it is extending its complete support to Lebanon.
In a statement Kuwait's foreign ministry said: "The State of Kuwait is following with great sorrow and pain the huge explosion that took place today's afternoon in the Lebanese capital, Beirut, killing and injuring tens of people and causing severe material damage".
Kuwait said it stood by the "Lebanese brothers to preserve their security and stability."
Oman also expressed its deep sorrow over the "unfortunate explosions" that took place in Beirut Port this evening.
The Sultanate issued a statement saying: The Sultanate of Oman expresses its deep sorrow over the unfortunate explosions that took place in Beirut Port."
"Sultanate expresses its solidarity and support for Lebanon and its people and extends its sincere condolences and sympathy to the families of the victims and wishes for a speedy recovery of the wounded and injured."
"The Sultanate hopes Lebanon will overcome this painful ordeal and peace will prevail throughout its territories, the statement added.
British Prime Minister Boris Johnson expressed his sorrow over the incident.
"The pictures and videos from Beirut tonight are shocking. All of my thoughts and prayers are with those caught up in this terrible incident. The UK is ready to provide support in any way we can, including to those British nationals affected.
French President Emmanuel Macron said "rescue and aid" were on the way to Lebanon.
"I express my fraternal solidarity with Lebanese people after the explosion that caused so many casualties and so much damage tonight in Beirut," Macron tweeted.
"France stands by Lebanon's sides. Always. French rescue and aid is on its way," he added.
The President of the European Council Charles Michel has tweeted his support for the people of Lebanon and the families of the victims of the blast.
"My thoughts are with the people of Lebanon and with the families of the victims of the tragic BeirutBlast," Michel wrote. "The EU stands ready to provide assistance and support."
"Stay strong," Michel also wrote.
