RIYADH — Wearing a face mask properly increasing its efficiency, the ministry of health has said. The ministry has put a video clip on its Twitter account and through its educational platform "Live Healthy" demonstrating the correct way of wearing a cloth mask, Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported on Sunday. The ministry explained that face masks, irrespective of whether homemade or sold in the markets, should have several layers. It advised the public to wash hands before wearing a face mask or sanitize the hands well. They should make sure the face mask is clean and safe to wear. To put on the face mask, they should grab it from the side ropes and ensure that the mouth, nose and chin are covered. The ministry stressed the necessity to wear a face mask when leaving the house and when communicating with others. When one wants to remove the face mask, hands should be cleaned well first, and the face mask should be removed by holding the side ropes. Then the face mask should be washed properly. The ministry reiterated the recommendation for everyone who has symptoms, or wants to evaluate his condition, to use the self-assessment service on "Mawid" app or visit one of the 237 "Tatamman" clinics set up across the Kingdom to serve those who feel symptoms of the new coronavirus COVID-19 infection, or call a "937" center.
