Qatar on Saturday recorded 1,804 new recoveries from the coronavirus taking the total recoveries to 90,387, the health ministry said. During the last 24 hours, the country recorded 530 new confirmed cases of the novel coronavirus and two new deaths, bringing the total number of virus-related deaths to 123, the ministry said. There are 8,673 active COVID-19 cases in the country, and there have been 99,183 confirmed cases so far. On Friday, the country recorded 400 new cases, with daily case counts between 800-900 reported earlier this week. "Members of the public are urged to adhere to all health guidelines and follow all instructions from relevant authorities, particularly those concerning social distancing, in order to ensure the health and safety of all," the country's Ministry of Health and Prevention said in a statement on Thursday carried by the Emirates News Agency (WAM). It revealed that infections have been soaring due to people's gatherings and visits, and ignoring of preventive measures recommended by the government, the most important of which are staying at home and maintaining social distancing.
