Published in The Saudi Gazette on 18 - 06 - 2020

TAIF — Al-Hada, with its dazzling beauty and cool climate, is a major tourism destination in the Taif governorate.
Al-Hada, which is well-known for its mesmerizing sceneries, is currently experiencing moderate temperatures between 15 and 24 degree Celsius, and this makes it one of the most favorite tourist destinations during the summer season in the western part of the Kingdom, according to a report carried by the Saudi Press Agency.
Situated on an estimated height of more than 2,800 meters above the sea level, Al-Hada is one of the most important destinations that visitors and pilgrims to Makkah prefer to pass through to enjoy its picturesque beauty in all its details.
Al-Hada has seen a significant boost in tourism investment with several recreational centers, hotels and resorts located in the midst of diverse vegetation and farms coming up, rewarding visitors with a breathtaking panoramic view and promising enjoyment and pleasure.
Al-Hada, spread over 210 square kilometers, borders the city of Taif and the suburb of Al-Hawiya in the east, the Sarawat and Al-Kurr Mountains in the west, Al-Sail Al-Kabeer town in the north and Al-Shafa Tourist Center in the south.
The climate of Al-Hada is moderate in summer and cool in winter, and rains are frequent with the arrival of spring and winter seasons, which are known as the apricot season among the farmers.
It is an enthralling scene when fog blankets its mountain peaks in the winter season, while the weather is extremely pleasant in the rest of the seasons. This is instrumental in developing sustainable tourism throughout the seasons, attracting more investments.
Al-Hada houses around 35 tourist resorts, five hotels, several furnished apartments, touristic shelters, a number of entertainment cities and resting places for families, youth and tourists. Al-Hada is considered the first summer resort for the people of Al-Hijaz and their favorite destination during the summer.
It is a green mountainous area linked to Makkah by a double mountain road, crossing Al-Kurr Mountains, with a distance of 12 km from its highest point to the bottom. It was constructed with a total cost amounting to about SR218 million, and there are express circular highways linking it with Al-Shafa and Al-Sail. Al-Hada beckons visitors to natural scenes of exquisite beauty and greeneries and more than 10 parks at intersections between Al-Hada and Taif.
Al-Hada cable car project is one of the most important entertainment projects and tourist attractions. Its upper station is located on the mountaintop and the lower one is situated in the tourist village of Al-Kurr, and visitors and holidaymakers can enjoy the beautiful and picturesque scenes during their trip. There are water theme parks, family meeting areas and restaurants in addition to various tourist and entertainment programs at Al-Kurr tourist village.
