JEDDAH — Indian Consul General Mohammed Noor Rahman Sheikh urged the younger generation to work hard to scale the ladders of success by acquiring skills to meet the potential challenges of life and seize the opportunities to serve the country and people.
Highlighting the significant role of a civil service career in this regard, he said that civil service is not just a career, but it has a greater role in the development of the nation and well-being of its citizens."
Sheikh made the remarks while inaugurating an online interactive civil services exam training session organized recently by the Jeddah-based Monumental Inspiration into Civil Services Academy (MICS).
Responding to queries from students attending the session, the Consul General, chief guest, explained the role and responsibilities of a civil servant and how the young aspirants can achieve their ambition to become a civil servant so that they can actively participate in the planning and execution of various schemes and projects that contribute to the development of the country and well-being of its citizens.
KP Ashif, head of faculty of a reputable civil services institution, began the interactive session by illustrating how to make use of a difficult situation to benefit the student community. He drew attention to the limitations on gathering during the lockdown period due to the COVID19 situation, which turned into a blessing in disguise in the form of virtual class room.
Ashif advised them to concentrate in their studies with the stream of their choice and relentlessly prepare to achieve the dream of a career in the civil services as well. Replying to the questions from the students, Ashif clarified that students do not need to compromise their stream or subject of their choice to achieve a career in the civil services.
Around 100 students from different international Indian schools in Jeddah attended the session. Abdul Ghani, chairman of MICS Academy, welcomed the gathering while AlAman Ahmed, secretary of the academy, proposed the vote of thanks.
EM Abdullah, technical coordinator of MICS Academy and general secretary of Indian Social Forum, Mohammed Mukhtar, IT coordinator of MICS Academy, Shahul Hameed, Koyissan Beeran and Faisal Tampara managed the event.
