MAKKAH — Prince Khaled Al-Faisal, emir of Makkah and adviser to Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman, Deputy Emir Prince Badr Bin Sultan and Minister of Health Tawfiq Al-Rabiah mourned the sad demise of Khaled Al-Sharif, a Saudi nursing staff, who succumbed to coronavirus on Sunday. They expressed their deepest sorrow and offered condolences to the bereaved family members of Al-Sharif and prayed Almighty Allah to bestow patience and solace on the family members to bear with the irreparable loss. The General Directorate of Health Affairs in Makkah region also condoled the death of its staff member Al-Sharif. The tragic death news of the young Saudi health hero drew a lot of attention on social media with condolences pouring in from a large number of people. Al-Sharif was one of the Saudi health practitioners who are on the frontlines of coronavirus response working tirelessly round the clock to treat people infected with the pandemic in Makkah. Speaking to Okaz/Saudi Gazette, Hussein Al-Sharif, brother of Khaled, said: "My brother Khaled, who was working at King Abdulaziz Hospital, developed symptoms of coronavirus late in Shaban and therefore he remained in quarantine at home. When the symptoms of the disease intensified, he was tested positive and admitted to hospital. Two days before Ramadan, he was moved to intensive care unit where he breathed his last on Sunday.
