Al-Watan Trading becomes new strategic partner of Geely in Saudi Arabia

Al-Walan Trading Company has signed an agreement with Geely Automobile International Corporation to become a strategic partner of Geely Automotive in Saudi Arabia.
This announcement came after the meeting held by top management of Al-Walan Trading Company with GM of Geely Automobile International Corporation. The official celebration was deferred due to coronavirus pandemic.
The deal is an important step to strengthen the role of Al-Walan Trading Company in the automotive sector, as well as enable the company to further expand its business.
"For more than 45 years, Al-Walan Trading Company has been providing the best products to the Saudi market by building global strategic alliances with the world's largest manufacturers, hence, the decision to enter into this partnership was taken," said Fahad Al-Walan, CEO of Al-Walan Trading Company, following the agreement with the first Chinese automaker.
"We have sought this agency based on indepth studies of the Saudi market's need for a new brand with a global reputation. Geely has modern pre-modern technologies in the field of artificial intelligence and is adapting this technology in designing and manufacturing of modern cars," he added.
China's first manufacturer Geely Auto possesses the highest share owned by one group in Daimler AG and Volvo Car Corporation, Geely is the owner of Volvo Car Group, and the biggest shareholder of Daimler AG and Volvo AB, which allowed it to acquire the highest global and future technologies in the automotive industry.
It's sales exceeded one million cars, placing it among the world's 10 top car manufacturers.
Over the past 10 years Geely invested more than $14 billion in R&D and will invest more for the next five years for use in research and development, in a commitment to providing the highest level of modern technologies in its industry.
Al-Walan Trading Company said studies showed that Geely cars enjoy a good reputation among the Saudi consumers, and that the advanced technologies used in the production of the third generation of its cars are suitable for the requirements of the new generation of customers and formed a key factor for strategic decision- making.
Al-Walan will utilize all its long potentials and expertise in this field to enhance Geely brand and bring it to the Saudi market in line with its international reputation."

Al-Walan Trading intends to open main showroons in Riyadh, Jeddah and Al-Khobar, in addition to opening of 3 integrated service centers in these cities, followed by the opening of a number of quick service centers.
On the sidelines of the signing of partnership, the third generation of new Geely models were demonstrated, where they were found be to reflecting the advantages of elegance in design, and rich in advanced performance driving systems, which were developed in cooperation with Volvo and other international companies in the automotive industry. The new models consist of sedan and SUV segments, these new advanced models will be launched in due course in the Saudi market, to mark the launch of the new era for Geely brand in the Kingdom. Among the most important of these models:
1) Coolray
Sporty multi-use model with an economical 1.5-liter turbo engine that provides high horsepower up to 177 hp with a high fuel economy consumption (17.8km/L), in addition to advanced technical characteristics commensurate with the requirements of young and modern customers.
2) Azkarra
Integrated all-wheel drive with an ultra-elegant touch, both in the spacious interior and exterior design. Its 1.5-liter turbo engine with 177 horsepower for 1.5T engine, Azkarra has 190 hp max output(177hp+13hp)at stop and run position of the engine when the movement stops provides a high fuel economy. This car will be a turning point for those wishing to own a multi-use vehicle with many performance characteristics and rich in modern technologies.
3) Binray
Mid-size family sedan, superior in fuel economy, its 1.0 liter turbo engine provides 136hp with amazing fuel economy consumption of up to (20.9km/L), this model will have a major role in the competition in the medium sedan auto sector because it has high specifications with excellent capabilities. — SG
