Geely to launch new crossover, SUV, MPV, energy trucks
Published in The Saudi Gazette on 23 - 03 - 2020

Geely Holding Group aims to increase its sales from 2.178 million vehicles in 2019 to 3 million in 2020, and achieve a ranking among the world's top 10 car manufacturers.
The company enjoys a broad portfolio of vehicles, and by the end of 2020, it will launch numerous new models covering multiple market segments including sedan, crossover, SUV, MPV and new energy trucks.
Geely Holding Group owns Volvo car group and a 49.9 percent share of Proton. In addition, Geely is the largest shareholder of Volvo AB and Daimler AG (9.69 percent). The company employs more than 50,000 people, operates fourteen vehicle manufacturing plants, in addition to eight powertrain plants and six knockdown kit plants.
The Group's dedication to innovative R&D has put it in the forefront of new technologies in the fields of sustainable energy, safety, automotive intelligence, and autonomous drive. Additionally, Geely Design employs over 1,000 designers from all over the world in five key studios located in Shanghai, Gothenburg, Barcelona, California and Coventry (UK).
Recently, Geely announced a very ambitious plan to design, test and manufacture its own satellite network that will provide a "smart three-dimensional mobility ecosystem" using low-orbit satellites. These satellites will support Geely's cloud computing requirements, autonomous driving program and high-speed data transmission network, as well as provide centimeter-precise navigation accuracy and fast over-the-air updates to its vehicles.
Geely vehicles entered their third generation in 2015 under the slogan of "Making Refined Cars for Everyone", signaling the onset of the firm's most ambitious development push yet of all aspects of its vehicles, including design, powertrain, connectivity, chassis technology, safety, autonomy, and others.
Currently, Geely's lineup is full of aesthetically pleasing conventional, hybrid, mild hybrid, plug-in hybrid, and all-electric vehicles. In 2020, Geely will launch several new pure electric models under the electric vehicle brand Geometry, the first of which is the Geometry A model, capable of covering 500 kilometers on a single charge.
As people spend increasing time in their cars, Geely decided to improve their driving experience by developing the iNTEC brand of technologies that are designed around a "humanized intelligent drive" concept, which give occupants a greater level of safety and convenience. Geely iNTEC is made up of five leading technologies, namely G-power (Efficient power technology), G-Safety (Human-oriented safety technology), G-pilot (Intelligent driving technology), G-Netlink (Smart connected technology) and G-blue (Health ecological technology).
Representing the epitome of the Chinese industrial revolution, and exemplifying the relentless global drive of the world's second largest economy, Geely was founded in 1986, after which it entered the Automotive sector in 1997 and expanded exponentially to become a major force on the global automotive stage. — SG
